Coastal Drive

August 21st
11:30 AM

We plan on meeting at Walgreen’s Drugstore at 11:30am for a leisurely drive along the coast to Dupont.  The drive is around 30-40 minutes, depending upon the exactness of our navigation.  Dupont has a very nice Forrey’s Forza coffee shop that serves espresso drinks, ice cream, and sandwiches.

After lunch everyone is on their own to drive back along the coast or perhaps visit the DuPont Historical Museum or the LeMay Automotive Museum, Marymount.  We will distribute maps to museums.  The DuPont Museum is about a 5-10 minute drive and the LeMay Museum approximately 20-25 minute.  The LeMay Museum needs no introduction.  The DuPont Museum is small, but very interesting showing the interesting history of DuPont, especially with the nitroglycerine dynamite industry there (no smoking nor even the carrying of matches were allowed).   It is closed on Saturday thus the change in dates for the event.

This is a joint venture for the MG’T’ Register and the MGCCNWC.

No RSVPs are needed, just be at Walgreen’s at 11:30

Take the I-5 to Tacoma.  From the I-5 take the Highway 16 towards Gig Harbor/Bremerton.  After about 2 ½ miles take exit 2B to Orchard.  Turn right to the traffic light (19th Street).  Turn right on 19th Street to Bridgeport (about 1 ½ miles).  Turn left on Bridgeport to 27th St.  Walgreen’s is on the northwest corner of 27th St. and Bridgeport.

For those coming over the bridge from Gig Harbor turn off at Jackson (the first exit after the bridge).  Turn right on Jackson, which becomes Bridgeport, and go the 27th Street.
